What your AI can do
Once connected, your AI can use these Asendar tools. Ask in your own words; your AI picks the tool. The last three are for individual accounts.
| Ask your AI to | What happens |
|---|---|
| Find a clinic For everyone | Looks up clinics on the Asendar network, near a place you name or all of them, and can narrow the list to one kind of care, such as ketamine or psilocybin. This is the public network directory. |
| Explain a program For everyone | Explains how an Asendar program works for one kind of care, in three parts: Intention (getting ready), Immersion (the session itself) and Integration (the time after). |
| Follow Asendar's guidelines For everyone | Gives your AI Asendar's tone and safety guidelines, so it can follow them while you talk. |
| Say what Asendar can do For everyone | Lists the Asendar tools your AI can use through this connection, for your kind of account. |
| Find a help page For individuals | Lists Asendar's in-app help pages, so your AI can point you to the right one. |
| List the self-checks For individuals | Lists the questionnaires you can take on your own in Asendar, such as the PHQ-9 and GAD-7, with how many questions each has. It does not start one or see any answers. |
| Try a practice check-in For individuals | You say how you feel and it suggests a next step. This is a demonstration: nothing is saved and nobody is told. |
For individuals means an Asendar account for your own care. On clinic staff accounts, owners and integration specialists can also try the practice check-in.
If you are struggling, the practice check-in does not reach your care team or anyone else. Contact your care team directly. In the US, you can call or text 988 at any time.
What it cannot do
- It cannot read or change your health record. That includes your journal, moods, check-ins, self-check answers and scores, session notes, messages with your care team, medicines and anything your providers write.
- It cannot see anyone else's information. Your AI works only as you, inside what your own account allows.
- It cannot book, pay for or cancel an appointment, and it does not contact a clinic for you.
- It cannot change your Asendar account or settings.
Asendar keeps a log of each request your AI makes to it, under your account, as it does for activity inside the app. What you type to your AI is handled by that AI company under its own terms. Asendar receives only what your AI sends to the tools above.
Before you start
- An Asendar account. It is free to try at asendar.app.
- Your email address confirmed. Asendar does not answer an AI app for an account whose email address is not confirmed yet.
- A computer. Most AI apps add a connection on their website or desktop app, not in the phone app. Once added, some also work on your phone.
- On a team or business plan of an AI app, an admin may need to add Asendar for your workspace first. Each app's section below says when.
Your Asendar server link
Every AI app uses the same link:
https://asendar.app/api/mcp
There is no key, client ID or password to paste. When your AI app asks you to sign in, it sends you to asendar.app, where you sign in with your Asendar account. Then you come back to your AI, connected.
Choose your AI
Claude
Claude supports custom connectors on the Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. A Free account can add one custom connector. You add it on claude.ai or in Claude Desktop, and it then works in Claude on the web, on the desktop and in the mobile apps.
Free, Pro and Max
- Open Claude and go to Customize > Connectors.
- Click Add custom connector (on some accounts, click Add first).
- Name it Asendar and paste the server link,
https://asendar.app/api/mcp. Click Continue. - If Claude asks how to sign in, choose Sign in now under Authentication and Register automatically under OAuth client. If your dialog shows Advanced settings instead, leave them empty. Click Add.
- When Claude sends you to asendar.app, sign in with your Asendar account. If it does not, click Connect next to Asendar in Customize > Connectors.
- In a chat, click the + button, select Connectors and make sure Asendar is turned on.
- Try: "Using Asendar, what clinics are on the network?"
Team and Enterprise
- An Owner adds it once for the organization: Organization settings > Connectors, then Add, Custom, and Web if Claude asks for a type. Paste the server link and click Add. Choose Register automatically if Claude asks about the OAuth client.
- Each member then goes to Customize > Connectors, finds Asendar (labelled Custom), clicks Connect and signs in with their own Asendar account.

ChatGPT
Who can add it. OpenAI offers custom connections on ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu, added on ChatGPT on the web, not in the mobile app. On Business, only an admin or owner can add one, for the whole workspace. On Enterprise and Edu, admins and owners can, and so can members an admin has given permission. ChatGPT Pro connects only tools marked read-only, and Asendar's tools are not marked that way yet, so they are not expected to work on Pro. Free and Plus do not include custom connections.
Add Asendar (admin, owner or permitted member)
- On chatgpt.com, open Plugins.
- Select the + button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Asendar. Under Connection, paste the server link,
https://asendar.app/api/mcp. - For authentication, choose OAuth. There is no client ID or secret to enter: ChatGPT registers itself with Asendar.
- Read the risk warning, tick I understand and want to continue, then select Create as a plugin.
- When ChatGPT sends you to asendar.app, sign in with your Asendar account.
- To share it with your workspace, an admin or owner publishes it after testing.
Use it
- The first time, open Settings > Plugins, select Asendar and select Connect if asked. Sign in with your own Asendar account.
- In a new chat, type @ and select Asendar. ChatGPT may ask you to confirm before it uses an Asendar tool.

Gemini
Who can add it. Google's custom apps in Gemini need you to be 18 or over and in the US, signed in with a personal Google Account (not a work or school account), with Keep Activity turned on, using Gemini in English. You add the app in Gemini on the web. After that, it also works in the Gemini mobile app.
- On a computer, go to gemini.google.com.
- At the bottom, click Settings, then Connected Apps. If you do not see it, click Personal Intelligence, then Connected Apps.
- Under Custom apps, use the Add a custom app link to get started field, or click Add a custom app.
- Paste the server link,
https://asendar.app/api/mcp. Leave Advanced features as they are: Asendar lets Gemini register itself, so there are no credentials to enter. - Click Next and follow the steps. When Gemini sends you to asendar.app, sign in with your Asendar account.
- In a chat, type @ and select Asendar, so Gemini uses it for that question.

Grok
Who can add it. xAI says connectors are available to everyone on Grok. On Grok Business or Enterprise, a team admin adds the connector first. xAI's guide covers adding a custom connector but does not yet describe its sign-in step in detail, so the screens may differ a little from the steps below.
- Go to grok.com/connectors.
- Click New Connector, then Custom.
- Paste the server link,
https://asendar.app/api/mcp. - Complete the sign-in: when Grok sends you to asendar.app, sign in with your Asendar account.
- Try: "Using Asendar, explain the ketamine program."
Grok Business and Enterprise
A team admin signs in to console.x.ai, selects the team and goes to Grok Business > Connectors, clicks + Add Connector, selects Other and pastes the server link. Team members then connect their own Asendar accounts on grok.com/connectors.

Other apps
Any app that can connect to a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP, with OAuth sign-in, can use Asendar. Give it the server link and nothing else. The first time it connects, it opens asendar.app in your browser so you can sign in.
Claude Code
From a terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http asendar https://asendar.app/api/mcp
Then, in Claude Code, run /mcp, choose asendar and sign in in your browser. In a project's .mcp.json, the entry looks like this:
{
"mcpServers": {
"asendar": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://asendar.app/api/mcp"
}
}
}
Cursor
Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (for every project) or .cursor/mcp.json (for one project), save and restart Cursor. Then open Customize, find asendar and follow its sign-in prompt.
{
"mcpServers": {
"asendar": {
"url": "https://asendar.app/api/mcp"
}
}
}
VS Code
Run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, choose HTTP, paste the server link and name it asendar. Or add it to .vscode/mcp.json:
{
"servers": {
"asendar": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://asendar.app/api/mcp"
}
}
}
VS Code opens your browser to sign in the first time it connects.
Gemini CLI
On June 18, 2026, Google replaced Gemini CLI with Antigravity CLI for people on its unpaid tier and on Google One. If you still use Gemini CLI, for example with a paid Gemini API key, add Asendar from a terminal:
gemini mcp add --transport http --scope user asendar https://asendar.app/api/mcp
or put this in ~/.gemini/settings.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"asendar": {
"httpUrl": "https://asendar.app/api/mcp"
}
}
}
Then run /mcp auth asendar in Gemini CLI to sign in.
Any other app
Look for "remote MCP server", "custom connector" or "MCP server URL" in the app's settings. Paste the server link, choose OAuth (or sign-in) if it asks, and leave any client ID and secret empty. If the app only offers a key or token, or only runs servers on your own computer, it cannot connect to Asendar.
Steps checked against Claude Code docs: MCP, Cursor docs: MCP, VS Code docs: MCP configuration and Gemini CLI docs: MCP servers on October 19, 2026.
Disconnect
You can disconnect Asendar at any time from the AI app. Once you do, that app can no longer use Asendar for you.
| AI app | How to disconnect |
|---|---|
| Claude | Customize > Connectors, then Remove or the three-dot menu next to Asendar. Team and Enterprise Owners remove it for everyone in Organization settings > Connectors. To pause it for one chat, turn it off under + > Connectors. |
| ChatGPT | Settings > Plugins, select Asendar, open the ··· menu (or Connection) and select Disconnect. |
| Gemini | Settings > Connected Apps. Under Custom apps, turn Asendar off. To unlink it from your Google Account, select More details > Disconnect. To remove it completely, select More details > Remove app. |
| Grok | On grok.com/connectors, find Asendar in your connected list and disconnect or remove it. A Grok Business admin can remove it for the team in console.x.ai. |
| Claude Code | claude mcp remove asendar. This also deletes the sign-in Claude Code stored for Asendar. |
| Cursor | Remove asendar under Customize, or delete its entry from mcp.json. |
| VS Code | Delete the asendar entry from mcp.json. To clear its sign-in too, run Authentication: Remove Dynamic Authentication Providers. |
| Gemini CLI | gemini mcp remove --scope user asendar |
If you delete your Asendar account, every AI app connection to it is removed with the account.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The AI app says it could not connect or reach the server | Check the link is exactly https://asendar.app/api/mcp, with nothing before or after it. Then remove the connection and add it again. |
| The sign-in page did not open | Your browser may have blocked the sign-in window. Allow pop-ups for the AI app's site, then try again. |
| You signed in, but every request fails | Confirm your email address in Asendar first, then try again. |
| Your AI says it cannot see your journal, moods or scores | That is by design. Open the Asendar app for your own record. |
| No clinics come back | The directory lists only clinics that have joined the Asendar network. Try a wider area, or ask without a place to see them all. |
| Your AI lists something it then cannot do | "Say what Asendar can do" lists the Asendar app's own assistant, and some of it works only inside the app. The tools your AI can use are the ones in What your AI can do. |

Technical details
For IT teams and developers setting up a client:
- Server URL:
https://asendar.app/api/mcp - Transport: Streamable HTTP.
- Sign-in: OAuth 2.0 authorization code with PKCE (S256). Clients register themselves through dynamic client registration (RFC 7591), as public clients, so there is no client ID or secret to issue.
- Discovery: an unauthenticated call returns
401with aWWW-Authenticateheader that points to the protected resource metadata. The metadata documents are athttps://asendar.app/.well-known/oauth-protected-resourceandhttps://asendar.app/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. - Who the AI acts as: the signed-in Asendar account. The tools it sees depend on that account's role, and none of them reads a health record.
